Observations: - Data doesn't include the two U15B slots.
- Only two clubs in the state (CESA, CSC) have 8 or more teams in the challenge/premier league. This "megaclub" talk on the board probably needs to be changed to "clubs", "micro-clubs", and "nano-clubs".
- For a large club, NECSA has surprisingly few challenge/premier teams; however, when NECSA puts a team into challenge/premier league, they tended to do well.
- From memory, lower state did not do as well as they have historically.
- Tough day for MPSC; North Augusta was perfect.

Pretty
you know we cant talk about that, but here goes anyways. Bridge has 3 teams, but one of them was with MPSC last year. They stole that spot.
Pretty, I feel you on the accountability. Let it be known that the "new" No Soccer Club Left Behind Act is now in effect. Chico can give out grades and Hyslop will drop the hammer and send the big dogs. Red and Black will be in your struggling club shortly to get things sorted out. North Augusta, you will be spared as your one got in.

List of Clubs on Probation
Discoveries, the premier club of York County that has as many teams as the other clubs of York County.
USA - under soccer advisory
CSC - seems to be the most likely candidate to have a regime change due to lack of club direction at this point, ie Crosby's resignation.
MPSC - went from being rumored to bringing in Shelley, Finotti, Osario, and a National Team staff member to 1-3 in State Cup play, with their Premier spots going 0-2.
Bridge - they are having an identity crisis.

Pretty Ricky,
Why is it surprising that Bridge only had 3 teams in the semi-final? The only fielded 6teams in this fall's state cup. How many did you think they would have? There are only 11 total teams in the entire club.
They only lost three spots, the same number as CESA.

Pretty Ricky: I agree that the semifinal slot success rate by team can be misleading when used to compare clubs with widely varying numbers of challenge teams; I used it to try to include a metric by which smaller clubs could be analyzed.
Nino Brown: I'll post the 2004 numbers next.

Fan01, CESA only lost two games- U16 girls and U18 boys.
The stats should probably read 13 of 15 since the 15 Boys are in limbo but I would say that neither DSC or CESA will have no problem with CSC's 15's.

I went with the data "as is" and noted in the first sentence that it didn't include the contested U15B's in my hopes to avoid confusion; however, you're exactly right to call me out on this because it can be misleading. Thanks for noting this.

Pretty,
Why should CESA expect to win everything? Take a step back and look....they have the staff the facilities and the most important thing.....NUMBERS!!!! Right now they are the monoply on youth soccer in SC. And they should be. They have taken the steps needed to be a big time "quality" club. Good for them. So it should be looked at as a "failure" if they don't have a team in the finals of every age group. CESA's "premier" team should be in the finals of every age group.....When coaches get paid the amount that CESA coaches do .....results should follow!
Just callin it like I see it.

A couple of things that stand out for me when comparing last year to this year:
CSC has been touted as the club with the vision for bigger things when in fact NECSA appears to have had the better of things.
I am surprised with the number of lower state teams. Only 6 this year, down two from last year. With the formation of bridge, I would have thought the lower state would get more teams in the semis.
Interesting that CESA did as well this year with their challenge level teams. I would have thought that the second year in the challenge teams would fall off a little.
This is all off one day of soccer, so much of this may be premature. JUst some early observations.
I'd like to see some commentary on these trends, whether agreed or not, and what any other insights are.
Gotta go. G- Money's about to get delt with.

Shearer, Thats the whole deal with the 'grand merger' I propose! With LSC,NECSA,CSC, we would have numbers too!! Also, based on Chico's wizard stats, a merger of those 3 clubs, which would be called CSC (Columbia Striker Club) you would have 9 clubs in the semis. (Instead of NECSA 4, CSC 4, and LSC 1).

ok I will play along this time......Who is the CEO? Miller? Riches? Rhodes? Now it seems that you want nothing form CRSA? From reading the Sandlapper league...they seem to have a good number of young players.
But .....back to LSC NECSA and CSC......won't happen. TOO many ME people and not enought people that care about the players.
That name sucks!!!!

Chico, Good point made by Shearer. Do you have the number of players each club has in their programs.

Sure CRSA is always welcome, but they want to do their high school thing. But we can work that out, too. DOC? Why, you of course!! And the name had to have 'Striker' in it, so you could always remember me when your club beats up on CESA.

I am not going to post numbers if a coach wants to thats fine but I am not. I look at it this way....I see that coaches are moving their families and up rooting from good(VERY GOOD) programs to coach at CESA.....Nothing for nothing but you don't do that unless the "other" half is happy and that usually means more money!
Just how i see it!!

I think El nino wants Chico's #s, not yours. Yours would not compute. But, its not about numbers, el Nino; its about quality.

So kids at CESA don't play HS soccer? No CESA Coaches coach a HS team?

I'll make it simple sucker....WHo is Pearse and who is Andrew?

I would venture to say that Atlanta and Raleigh pay much more than any South Carolina club.
Getting mixed messages. Shearer says it is numbers, 2004 says not numbers but quality.

I had put thought into a columbia merger, and I was thinking more along the lines of COESA (Carolina's Other Elite Soccer Club) Or, in order to give CRSA more involvement, Midland Rapid. But I'm also a stupid high schooler, so I'll leave important things like the naming of the club up to responsible adults like 2004 and shearer.
