Can someone please explain how the NECSA/Mt. Pleasant game has been appealed and now rescheduled for next Tuesday night. The game had been posted as a 3-0 NECSA win with both teams reporting. That has been removed with the rescheduling. The NECSA team now has at least 4 players with conflicts that night due to JV soccer action. It doesn't seem right that NECSA now has to play a team shorthanded due to Mt. Pleasant's issues. Whatever they might have been? I think it would be best to schedule the game that is more acceptable to NECSA. In addition, it will be difficult for Mt. Pleasant to travel to Columbia for a 6:30 PM game on a school night. I hope this is reconsidered.

USMNT2014,

Not sure what you are looking at, but the schedule I just checked (http://www.hotstat.com/standings.cfm?did=3238) shows the game being played this coming Sunday at 2:30 pm.

Or, maybe they did already reconsider?

They changed it again. Hopefully, they will be able to get the team together then. Good thing it is not JV as they limited the players last weekend in the Irmo tourney. Necsa will have 3 games over the weekend. Mt. Pleasant 1 game. Just another weekend full of soccer. It will probably get changed again anyways.

I heard there were some pretty good matches in this age group this past weekend. State Cup should be unbelievably competitive with many teams having a shot at taking the title.

When Nick Finotti moved over to CESA , I posted that the people with kids in the younger age groups would be the ones to really benefit from his training. As good as Nick has proven to be with HS kids and as a tactician,I still feel his real genius lies with teaching young players the basic fundamentals of the game. If he works with your child they will be a better player.

There should be a few interesting matches this weekend:

Tega Cay vs both CESA 92 teams and NECSA vs Lexington

I don't really see the top three changing (except maybe amongst themselves) but everything after that seems to be up in the air.

Any predictions?

After a disappointing loss to Mt. Pleasant the NECSA teams backs are up against the wall. Although, Mt. Pleasant won, their two goals were rather weak and certainly demoralized the NECSA team. Congrats to Mt. Pleasant. NECSA has beaten Lexington twice this year already so the Sunday matchup may be a grudge match for Lexington and the season may be over for NECSA by that time. Our hopes are that the new Columbia United Football Club will give us the boost necessary to compete. I hope there is a U14 goalie waiting somewhere in the midlands.

So, what happened with Lexington and NECSA? The game didn't get postponed because of the weather, did it?

Well sort of....The game was scheduled to begin at 2:00. The rain at the field was a downpour until about 2:15 and had been raining for about 1/2 hour. I am not sure the field was actually playable due to the amount of rain. However, no refs showed up anyways. Although, NECSA has two certified refs in our "family" Lexington was not comfortable with this option. If the shoe was on the other foot I am not sure I would be comfortable with this option either. My son was not thrilled with the field conditions. Thus, the postponement was fine with him. From what I understand the game has been rescheduled for Tuesday night.
