Chico,

I have checked on the number of players at the YMCA's in Greenville in the past. Unfortunately, I don't remember the numbers (which I know to be in the several 100's), but will attempt to retreive that info. Also, there is Upward soccer. I have no clue as to their numbers. There are several churches in the Greenville area that run the program. I do know that the numbers for Upward basketball were pretty large. The Upward bball program my son played in had about 10-12 teams of 9-10 players in the 3rd/4th grade boys league alone. I would guess that the soccer numbers would be slightly lower.

Did you know that the columbia YMCA is affiliated with CRSA? Therefore, in a way it is SCYSA affiliated.

The Golden Strip Y in Simpsonville has 570 players signed up for the spring season. They told me that the other YMCA's in Greenville probably had that combined. So you're looking at roughly 1000 players being served by the Y's in Greenville.

The eastside Y in G'ville has over 400 players signed up. There are two other YMCA's in town but they don't have very many from what I have heard.

You (or anyone else reading this) wouldn't know approximately how many kids play at the three locations in the YMCA, would you?

Don't know about Lexington and Irmo, but the downtown YMCA has between 800-1000 players during the spring and fall season. Most under 10.
