I just find it amazing that Clubs expect parents to pay for Try-outs and get there kids there, and the Clubs can not even annouce who the coaches will be for these teams. I guess Organization is missed once CLUBS MERGE!!!!

Tryouts give the clubs an idea of how many players they have to work with..at that point teams will be put together and then coaches assigned.I have to agree with you that it would be nice to know who is coaching what age group since it seems that players are trying out at more than one club nowadays. The face of club soccer is always changing..One thing that stays the same is the costs keep going up.

James Caan,

You haven't been doing this for very long, have you?

As I see it, there are two choices:

1) Clubs tell you exactly who the coaches for the teams are, then when there aren't enough kids in one age group for a team, or enough for two teams in another...and the club has to go back and say, "Sorry, what we told you before is wrong." or,

2) Clubs tell what they think they MIGHT do with specific teams, or give you a list of all the coaches they will use.

In a perfect world, the clubs would know exactly how many kids will show up, the exact skill-level of all of them, they would have coaches contracted, and everything would be spelled out in fine detail.

I'm sure that is a wonderful place.

(I apologize....did that come out sounding a tad sarcastic? My bad...)

I agree somewhat , but i see on some club site that certian temas have a coach assined for age groups and then some age groups are left off. Give the KIDS some idea of who they will be working with. It is still about the KIDS!!!

Santino,
At CESA, the club coaches not announced with their teams is because they are still involved in State Cups. After these state cups are finished I'm sure the coaches for these teams will be announced.

P.S. Stay away from toll booths.

Jimmy...loved you in the "The Godfather"...not too sure about your work in "Las Vegas."

Okay...as I understand it, the U13-U15 age groups are the ones not announced. As noted earlier, the reason for this is that these ages are still involved in the state cup.

Now, tryouts for the U13-U15 age group start no earlier than May 22 and run through June. In other age groups tryouts start as early as May 8.

I believe that CESA is going to announce coaches for these age groups after the state cup but before tryouts, which means no later than May 21. I know this because I wondered about it before today and asked somebody there.

So, before tryouts, it appears that the "KIDS" [I hope you don't have a trademark on the all-capitals version of that! [Smile] ] will be able to see with whom they are going to be working. Perhaps more importantly from the parent's perspective, the parents will be able to see.
