NCYSA State Cup is being played at WRAL fields in Raleigh this weekend and the North Carolina folks are going crazy because the place is not safe. Make sure you click on the video.

I've seen those fields before. Worst "fields" I have ever seen. CASL has a monopoly on soccer in that area and it cannot find a way to keep those fields playable. It's quite pathetic.

That CASL rep is a total prick, man. Bummer.

We played at those fields in the Fall, and I was shocked. I expected, with as big and strong a club as CASL is, for their main complex to be immaculate. HUGE disappointment.

Yeah, I love that guy's attitude..."If they don't like it, they can play somewhere else."

GREAT customer service. Great representative for the club.

It is an interesting problem. It seems that Charlie Slagle and CASL were openly admitting that there were significant problems with the fields.

However, since the adult league rents from them, CASL does not seem too upset that they collect $90 per player in rental fees. If CASL is really concerned about the quality of their fields, then limit the number of adult league games played there.

It seems though that they are concerned with the quality right up until it's time to scehdule adult league games and they see the $$ they can make from the adult league.... then field conditions don't seem to be a huge deal.

It really is a shame. When my daughter's club played up there. We didn't play on a quality playable field the entire weekend. I don't think there is a good excuse for it since CASL locks up all the fields. And at $90 a player just from the ASL and all the money from the club, that should be plenty of money to rotate those fields and keep them in good shape.
