What? SCHSL/SCISA play is over...and you're worried you won't get your trash talking fix for the summer?

You're in luck.. Plex Indoor Summer League is here.

Let me be the first to say..

Just quit now..the super group benp has assembled will demolish all who stand in our way.

Roster/Dream Team
Ian Roof - Cardinal Newman - 2005
Michael Culbertson - Cardinal Newman - 2006
Chandler Culbertson - Ben Lippen - 2006
Justin Lambert - Ben Lippen - 2006
Kyle Tyler - Ben Lippen - 2007
Jonathan Zurcher - Heathwood Hall - 2007
Matt Winstead - Cardinal Newman - 2006
Jack Rozier - Lugoff-Elgin - 2004
Robert Hunter - Waccamaw/Bradenton Academy - 2004
Ben Pritchard - Ben Lippen - 2006
Will Weatherly - Ben Lippen 2005
Nathan Arroyo - Northwestern - 2006
Spencer Lewis - Irmo - 2005

..lock the doors..blow out the candles..hide the women and children. It's going to be nasty.

Ok dudeman, I will take your advice this once, and
cut chucktowngoalie. I have picked up scskeeper for goal.
Carolina mom,
Can you play at least 10 mins of first half, then I will get scdixiegirl09 in for you? Then you can work on snacks for the rest of the game.

LEdudeman,
Thanks for the warning. I guess I better be concerned about Soccerhubby finding me.
I, hereby, challenge your no-name dream team to a scrimmage. Carolinamom will mark LEdudeman all game, and shut his little game down.

Sorry to say Carolina Crossfire started the season with a loss..but in the same breath I have to say I'm pretty surprised in our performance.

3-3 at the half

6-4 final.. goals from Ricky Taylor(2), Stephen Stanton, and Chris Stevens.

Promising start for a team with some major experience issues..and some..not so fit veterans ::cough ME cough::

Tonight confirms..that I will be a valuable sub for the Gold team..but that's about it.

You're on notice!

PS - I would like to take a moment to thank Fred Beaver..for a superb officiating job tonight! As soon as I saw the Beave in our court I knew it was going to be a quality evening of soccer!

PSS - Props to our keeper Doug Corrigan.. not too rusty indeed!

That's certainly true.. though they scored 2 in the opening minutes of the 2 half just on errors and what not. They deserved the win.. we weren't fit enough or organized enough.. but still.. not too bad for the first match.

Josh Settle, too bad Sweeten is too irresponsible to get me money in time, or we would be unbeatable, but Ian will do just fine.
Results from today:

BFC 9-4 Coca-Cola
Apple Annies 6-8 Gunners (RV plus some guest alumn)
Jakes II 10-3 Pride FC (BC Alumn minus graduated seniors of this year, something about the beach, and summer...losers...)
Devil Alumni 6-6 The Alumn (Ridge View)
Specialized Fitness 1-11 SV Gold

BFC did pretty well considering they met eachother while stepping out on the field...give us a couple of weeks, and the competition (namely SV) will be wishing they'd played in the rec division.

Thought everyone might want to know..

BFC improved to 3-0 with a 13-4 spanking of "The Gunners" tonight.

We came out a little flat, but eventually the flood gates opened and goals came one after the other.

As a special note:

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all my teammates.. ..for believing in me.. and for supporting me. My goal tonight..was not for me.. it was for Rob..it was for Kyle.. it was for Nathan and Chandler ..for Matt and Justin.. etc etc.. and especially.. it was for <Ben3 [Embarrassed]

To whom it may concern.. ..PM me for the address to mail my Oscar.

At 3-0 with 9 points BFC has sole possession of 1st place in the standings. Next Sunday, July 2nd BFC faces 4th place "Jakes II" @9PM.

Guess Beaver set up all those 1v1 with your keeper too..

No way that match should have been within one..or even FIVE goals.

In other news.. BFC played probably their worst game so far..but still managed to come away with the win(novel idea!) against SV Gold 4-3.

Well.. Summer 2006 Regular Season at the Plex is over.

BFC ended up 6-1..losing their only match to the Dreher guys/Rushe by two goals. BFC goes into the playoffs as the #2 seed in Men's Gold Division. Sunday 9:05 #2 BFC plays #7 Pride FC. Should be interesting.

WHILE..

Carolina Crossfire finished the regular season with a loss to Heritage Electric (the only indoor team I've seen have a coach ) Crossfire boasts a record of 1-6 and as the #8 seed will play the #9 seed Bengals Tuesday at 6ish ..for the right to play #1 Cayce Black that same night around 8 o'clock.

Parity folks..that's the name of the game.

Congratulations to the CAYCE BLACK team that posted a 6-0-1 (19 points) mark which was good for 1st Place in the Summer League ... This team is comprised of rising '07-'10 Bearcat players.

BFC rolls on Pride FC tonight 11-8. Pretty even in the first half. BFC pulled away in the 2nd though only allowing a few late goals for the 3 goal differential.

Good match from all the guys.. tough night to be the Pride keeper ..didn't catch his name I think Rob Hunter owes him a drink.

#2 BFC advances to face #3 Coca-Cola next Sunday

..while #1 Devil Alumni plays #5 (RV) Alumni

Ya that Robert Hunter is a beast. I thin he might be the next big thing if he lights up the college net like he does at the Plex. I've been scared of him since he put a bomb in on me from about 30 out back in HS. Nathan Arroyo isn't bad either, definetly a steal for Spartanburg Meth.

All in all that Pride keeper played like **** to be honest but it was good to see that without management ben there that you got in the game Jack.

I know it is 'thrilling news' to hear LE Dudeman's reports on his 'spectacular' indoor team. But come on........that ain't real soccer. Its like a ping-pong game!
It is August and I know its 3 weeks away, but any predictions on a real soccer game - Clemson/USC Aug. 25?
I will go with Clemson 2 USC 1.

I agree with you there. I put in a half, game before last as keep. That was one half too much!

PS - George Rushe is possibly more sick in indoor than outdoor.

..subject change..

My silver team #8 "Carolina Crossfire" lost in a heartbreaking upset to #1 Cayce Black tonight. Final score wasn't too impressive but my LE guys played hard and we held the lead for a good bit of the first half.

Best of luck to these juniors at BC. Andrew Richardson has a cannon for a left foot and all of these guys put the ball in the corners. Wish I'd gotten the names of some of the other guys..but I think we'll be hearing plenty about them in the Spring.

Btw: I'm pretty sure I shoved Joe Pinner's great great grandson to the ground tonight. Someone let the WIS Mafia know I'm truly sorry.

What??? The All-World Stacked Steroid BenplippenFC Boys lose in the semis? They can't even make the final game against the punks from Dreher?
Must have been the red flares sponsored by Coca-Cola and the Coca-Cola jingle chants that intimidated them.

L-E Dude, that wasn't the Pinner boy you shoved to the ground but the one who came up to you afterwards. It's a good thing the WIS Mafia didn't come after you. They would have to call Susan Aude'out of retirement to handle you.

Hope all the other clubs out there have been working hard in the off-season to get those final transfers in. I know BFC skipper Ben Pritchard has been hard at work wheeling and dealing with the best talent in the area to put together some quality sides for the Summer season.

By request BFC will be entering three teams for competition this season. So far the rosters for two of those teams have been solidified.

BFC: Shoecarnival will play Tuesday nights in the Men's Open Division-

0 Josh Settle
1 Austin Moody
2 Ben Pritchard
3 Spencer Lewis
5 Nathan Arroyo
5 Daniel Upchurch
7 Brett Keatley
3 Jonathan Zurcher
9 Matt Winstead
10 Andreas Gioia
10 Robert Hunter
12 Justin Lambert
16 Will Weatherly
17 Jess Maki

Also, BFC will yet again field a co-ed team, though this season's squad is much improved-

0 Josh Settle
1 Austin Moody
2 Ben Pritchard
3 Alison Bush
4 Mandy Lambert
5 Jack Rozier
6 MA Burrows
6 Kyle Tyler
8 Michelle Woodbury
10 Lilly White
10 Andreas Gioia
10 Robert Hunter
12 Justin Lambert
18 Drew Dunston

The BFC Men's open team for Sunday night is still being confirmed, but I can guarantee you all that it is on par with the level of excellence we require for every squad that wears the black and white.

What do the Cayce boys have this go around? Does "The Don" finally have a team that can win a game? Only time will tell...

Has it come to the point that BFC is so dominant at the Plex that nobody else even wants to talk futball over the long hot summer?

From what I've been told - BFC: Shoecarnival defeated Val's Team (who was previously 32-0 over three seasons in the Tuesday night league) 8-3. All of Val's goals came while BFC was down a man. I'm yet to see Jess Maki play but apparently he was huge for BFC in odd man situations. Robert Hunter (Furman) lead in scoring (I believe) - BFC: Shoecarnival played Gol De Oro tonight, but I don't have any word of the result so far.

BFC's co-ed squad begins play this Sunday at 6:50 against Wild Wings. While BFC's Sunday Men's team faces Bearcats at 8:30pm.

Need to get a finalized roster for the Sunday men's team, but there will be a lot of familiar/solid players.

who-me,
I agree that it will be a long, boring summer having to hear all these BFC stats and victories. I think the League needs to be made aware that these alleged 'BFC star-stacked teams', were given enducements of all the post-game apple juice boxes they can consume, and unlimited Cheetos and peanut M&Ms to play for BFC.
I think BFC needs to be treated like the Yankees or Barry Bonds or the Clemson Tigers.............
"BOO" them every time they take the field.

The League also needs to investigate the alleged 'sponsor'
of BFC and if there are any kickbacks involved from the ladies shoe department-

The real question is will all their parents stay up late enough to show up and make a victory 'tunnel' for them after the game?

who,
I don't know. It could be. I also wonder if BFC players got free shoes from shoecarnival? We will see if BFC continues to boast of their success after they are taken down by Columbia Notebook in their next game.

Well, all combined BFC squads are 4-0 through the first week of play at the Plex.

Tonight BFC Co-ed beat Wild Wings 4-2(?).

Then later in the evening Sunday BFC Men's beat "Bearcats" 14-2(?).

Majority of the goals for both BFC squads scored by Robert Hunter. I know KC Dunbaker and myself also scored, probably Andreas and Kyle Paradise.

Sunday BFC Men's roster:
Daniel Maddox
Kyle Paradise
Mike Czlinski(sp)
Ben Pritchard
KC Dunbaker
Andreas Gioia
Jack Rozier
Josh Settle
Kyle Tyler
Jonathan Zurcher
Robert Hunter
Kyle Crawford
Stiles Harper

So things are shaping up nicely - looked like a rough night for Big Time United (x-BC guys) against Coca-Cola. Always is though..

Looks like Ben's Boys continue...

By the way, I like the way the Plex posts red cards for everyone to see. Might help keep some tempers under control.

BTW - BFC: Shoecarnival won 10-3 the other night against the first place team. 10 goals without Robert Hunter. Cheers.

BFC Co-ed won via forfeit against "Ship of Fools" this Sunday.

While Sunday Men's BFC beat "Real BFC" 9-3. As if the score didn't speak for itself, BFC skipper Ben Pritchard scored a decisive goal that made it clear to everyone present who the real BFC is.

Josh Settle was pulled with the score at 7-1 and would go on to score with an assist from Benp. Leading scorer Robert Hunter remained in goal with a save ratio above .500.

Next week BFC: Shoecarnival faces "The CPM Stroodles"(??) on Tuesday night at 8:40. BFC Co-ed plays "SMU" at 5:20, while BFC Sunday Men's will play Big Time United at 9:20pm.

Perhaps a meeting between the Sunday and Tuesday clubs needs to be arrainged. Players who are on both rosters would be allowed sub for either side, and shoot the ball at either goal depending on their mood. Coach Pritchard sure would have his hands full, but what a bonanza for Shoe Carnival franchises in the midlands.

Here are the shoes provided by Shoe Carnival to all BFC players. If BFC keeps winning these will be the hot shoes in the fall-
