Does anyone know how the "merged" clubs tryouts have been going? numbers? quality players? Have they drawn any kids from other clubs?

This wil give you an idea of numbers.

CUFC tryout results

However note that the player merely makes the team, if they choose to stay or go elsewhere it wil not be shown.

I hear that the U18s will be stacked...mostly do to Adrian Pinasco

Turn out has been excellent along with talent level and depth.

I would figure that Tripp Miller would get quality players on his teams as well. What age group is he coaching?

U 14's looked strong. Alot to shake out before Saturday. Players had to play with their age groups last night. If everyone stays in the age group and unltimately participates strong teams could be fielded.

Can someone explain to me the reasoning behind selecting 18 players to your top U-18 and U-17 boys teams and 19 players to the second teams in those age groups?

I think I counted 20 players on the U-16 girls second team. Is 9 players on the bench at good idea for the development of 15 and 16 year old girls? What am I missing?

I would venture to believe that there is some hedging against the natural attrition that will occur when the parents get the first bill or kids choose not to participate due to the amount of committment necessary. If you loose two players too this attrition and then two players get injured during the season your are down to 14 players. That would be down to three maybe four subs on the team.

So what if none of the above happen? Do I just shell out X amount of dollars and then hope that someone gets hurt so my child will have more playing time?
