So, SCYSA has converted the former Pelham Masonic Soccer League into the President's Medal Soccer League [Confused] -- how convenient for the acronym.

What's the difference? Who knows except for the folks in Greenville.

When it becomes easier to decipher between the SCYSA, Premier, PMSL, PCL, etc., then club soccer will get more coverage. It's just too confusing for "non-soccer" people to know what's going on these days!

Anyway, soccer organizations under the umbrella of SCYSA should make this change on their websites, in their newsletters, etc.

But, I encourage all club teams to report their scores and results to your local newspapers just like American Legion Baseball teams, AAU baseball and basketball teams do so on a daily basis.

Regarding "who knows except for the folks in Greenville", which folks in Greenville? The SCYSA headquarters is in Columbia, right?

From my understanding the Pelham Masonic Lodge is in Greenville, S.C. Does anyone know why the league wasn't named something like "Palmetto", "Sandlapper", or simply "South Carolina"? Just a weird title for a soccer league in my opinion.

Wow! I had no idea that there really was a "Pelham Masonic" anything let alone a lodge.

I have not a clue in terms of the naming stuff -- all of this seems like magic to me.

Perhaps it was easier to change the name to reflect it being state association run, but keep the acronym the same to prevent the administrative burden of changing all of the states paperwork.

Of course with all of the smart young people out there with electronic documents, global finds, etc., I don't think it's too difficult. Of course, I don't think there's much of that within the SCYSA.
