I've heard from one of the parents of the team that the SC 92 team beat Florida ODP 1-0 with a goal from Joey Demare. Also, for those who are not familiar with the ODP camp there are "All-Star" games known as pool games each night that weigh heavily on your chance to be on the Region Team. From South Carolina Joey Demare and I think one of the Goalkeepers were selected. Joey ended up getting a goal in the all-star game.

They play North Texas today....

Update from Mississippi

SC 92 beats North Texas 2-1 this morning...

Both goals scored by Joey Demore or however you spell the last name...he now has 7 goals in 4 games. Quite a good showing for South Carolina so far.

Joey Demare is playing quite well and scored in the all-star (pool) match last night.

Where do you find the scores for the games? I was wondering how the 93 boys were doing. I notice that no one from that team made it into the pool games.

I was on the line of the game that Joey scored in last night. It was a pretty good goal, set up by an even better ball he played. However, I think he was uncomfortable in the second half when moved to center mid...he seemed to dissapear after having been a crucial player in the first half. I'm looking forward to being able to just watch the games tonight, but I haven't heard who all is playing in the pool game.

From what I've heard so far, Fernando Gonzalaez is in the pool game tonight. Most of the players who were selected last night were not selected tonight to be rested and so the coaches can get a better look at the rest of the players is what I've been told.

I didn't know who the south carolina player was if there was one, but the kid that stood out to me was about 3 foot nothing from louisiana. The kid never lost the ball, and afterwards was surrounded by all the region coaches asking him questions about where he plays and lives etc.

Also, I was hearing from the referees that the NTX team that we beat was the B team, but I don't know for sure.

Congratulations to Joey on what appears to be some very good performances. He is a solid player who has a knack for putting the ball in the back of the net. I look forward to watching him play the next several years.

7 goals in 4 games and 2 against NTX -- that's amazing! Joey has to be considered a strong, strong contender for the national team at this point. Wow!!!

I got to watch the second half of his pool game tonight, and he was back up top and back in top form. Almost put in an extremely tough shot that went wide, and had some other good runs.

I talked to someone down in Starkville last night and the S.C. team lost to Mississippi 3-0 yesterday. S.C. plays Georgia today, which supposedly might have the best team down there. Will be interesting! Good luck!

The boys played Georgia this morning and beat them 2-0 with goals from Joey and another young man named Emmet. Great showing for South Carolina!

It has also been announced that Joey is a holdover for the region team and will stay and train with them until Saturday. He is 1 of 30 boys selected from the camp. Great work Joey and keep it up!
