ARSENAL-CHELSEA CUP FINAL MEANS UNITED WILL DEFINITELY PLAY IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE OR UEFA CUP
Newcastle United will definitely play in Europe next season, without having to go through the arduous and torturous route of playing in the Intertoto Cup to do so.

With Arsenal and Chelsea contesting the FA Cup Final, it means sixth place in the Premiership will gain entry into the UEFA Cup, and United can finish no lower than sixth this season.
United of course still have their eyes set on fourth place in the Premiership which would give the Magpies a place in the Champions League. Saturday's win at Derby kept United in pole place for the fourth Champions League place which would mean United, and the third placed team, entering the competition at the Third Qualifying Stage, a two leg tie on 14 and 28 August (dates subject to confirmation).
