Can't necessarily answer the question as to why USC keeps losing early in the tournament, but as for Doug (or even Trevor for that matter) coming back to USC, I must remind you that Doug has only beaten Mark twice since going to Furman eight years ago.

Secondly, what makes you think that Doug wants to come back to USC?

Doug loves Greenville and he can win his conference every year and get an automatic bid to the NCAA Tourney. He has a nice house and his wife has a great job there making big $$.

As for Trevor, he is in a great conference and is making a fortune in camp over the summer. His facilities are better than USC's. And he has some recruiting advantages...specifically that he is close to Goergia.

Don't be so sure that USC could land a big time coach if Berson left.

USC's facilities (Locker room, training room) have not been updated since the 70's and they don't play in a conference, so the only way to get into postseason is an at-large bid. (Despite that, USC has been to postseason in the last 17 years more times than any school nationally but 5...more than Clemson and Furman.)

The grass is always greener....
