U.S. Getting Ready for Competition

CHICAGO -- Kasey Keller and Brian McBride were among 10 players from last year's World Cup roster picked by the United States for its exhibition game against Japan in Seattle on March 29.

The U.S. team is preparing for the FIFA Confederations Cup in France and the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the championship of North and Central America and the Caribbean. The Americans also have an exhibition game against Mexico at Houston.

At the Confederations Cup, the Americans play World Cup semifinalist Turkey on June 19, World Cup champion Brazil on June 21 and African champion Cameroon on June 23.

After an exhibition game against Paraguay on June 23 at Columbus, Ohio, the U.S. team opens the Gold Cup against El Salvador on July 12 at Foxboro, Mass.
