AMSTERDAM (Wednesday, February 18, 2004) - Arjen Robben scored in the 57th minute after beating Frankie Hejduk on the left wing as the Holland topped the U.S. 1-0 in the Amsterdam ArenA this evening. Eddie Pope, who fell ill just before the team left the hotel today, Jonny Walker, Conor Casey and John O'Brien were the scratches from today's match. Our result today was not horrible given Hollands past results at this venue.Tactics were similar to what Northwestern attempted against Irmo in last years state final. We almost snuck one in at the end as you said.
An aggressive attacking style against this team in Amsterdam probably gets you a spanking---ask the Scots, who were on the receiving end of a 6-0 thrashing in November.

I believe, that one of the National team players - Bobby Convey is looking to buy a home in Mt Pleasant.

That's what I have heard as well. Former Brookland-Cayce standout Troy Lesesne, now a rising senior for the Cougars at the College of Charleston, is good friends with Convey and mentioned the same thing to me recently.
