Carolina showed solid fundamentals in Friday night's 1-0 home victory over Georgia State. Coach Smith kept many of her (13) freshmen on the field throughout the game but Ashley Kirk (fr, Stratford Academy) was particularly effective in her control of ball movement in the center mid position. She showed a level of maturity and skill that was very impressive to watch. Congratulations to the Lady Gamecocks.
