Announced at MLSnet.com that Chivas USA's head coach Thomas Rongen has stepped down as head man and assistant coach Javier Ledesma will become the interim coach. Chivas USA, one of two expansion teams for the 2005 season, currently sits at the bottom of league standings with a 1-9-1 record. On another note, former USC goalkeeper Brad Guzan has become the number two keeper, starting the last 3 games on the bench.

While I applaud MLS for trying to create a derby with Chivas and the Galaxy, let's be honest, Chivas are terrible.

I sure hope their Mexican ownership has some more pride next year in fielding a competitive side. If they do not show more commitment next year, fold the team and send the owners back to Mexico.

My feelings would be the same if the Vancouver owners tried to start a MLS franchise and had similar success, or lack thereof, as Chivas have had.

only thing chiva's had good going for them was USC's keeper, and he doesn't play for them anymore.

He (Guzan) does play for Chivas USA, but he's been benched due to the return of their starting GK who had been out all season from an injury. Probably the best thing for Guzan really, because the new guy is getting lit up to!

exactly so he doesn't play anymore(honestly, the backup keeper never gets PT unless the starter is hurt)

let me put my piece of pie in this. the mexican team Chivas is a very good team they are in the quarterfinals in copa libertadores. Tell me that is not good the beat Boca Juniores 4-0. If Chivas USA were just as good as the team from mexico. Chivas usa would dominate the US.

then why dont they put more attention on the MLS, dominating in 2 different leagues is a lot more impressive than being good in one and being a joke in another.
