End Result:
MLS All-Stars-4
Fulham FC-1

Jeff Cunningham scored two late goals to help the All-Stars pull away!

What does this say about the MLS? I know they can't be near anyone in Europe and South America, but is the MLS getting better?

Well either the MLS is gettin better or Fulham is fallin apart or had a bad day...But i'd chose that the MLS is gettin better...

I say that because the way all MLS teams are playing against the European teams.. not just because of this one game

You can't really look at this game and consider it seriously for a couple of reasons...

1) The MLS All-Stars aren't a team. They played with each other in practice for a few days, and are in season. Had they been training as they have with their club teams together, it would have been a rout.

2) Fulham is just getting back. Their basically playing 11 at full strength against 11 just coming from vacationing. Their season starts in a few weeks, so of course they weren't at 100 percent today.

3) Because it was an all-star game, everyone on the American side played. Had Donovan, Dempsey, Twellman stayed in, it would have been a 5-goal margin (even though Jeff Cunningham would've gotten my vote for MVP scoring 2 goals in 15 minutes at his old home, Crew Stadium).

4) The MLS All-stars were loose. They had nothing to lose. Fulham was tight. They're just getting back, but in England, you're not supposed to lose to an American side.

I'm still proud of the win for the MLS. The league is certainly improving...maybe we'll be able to start keeping some of our best at home.

I think the game can be taken serious in one aspect at least. The MLS is attracting/developing quality talent. This game proved that. Look further to the Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Crew vs. Fulham game. Reasonably close losses/wins to each of those team. The league is stepping it up.

I was surprised at how strong the MLS midfield was. Normally All Star teams are too attacking minded, but this one was a good TEAM.

Certainly, I see the improvements versus the European teams. The USA talent is getting stronger, for sure.

I have been in the UK three times already this year and no one thinks the US has any decent players. I think this will start to wake them up.

I thought it was amusing to hear the announcers refer to the action of the MLS teams as "The U.S. is playing so and so" and "The U.S. counters and blah, blah, blah."

I believe there was more than one nationality represented in that game.

Oh, and a special hex to Cunningham for taking his shirt off after the second goal while I sat and watched the game with my girlfriend. She looked at me with such disappointment later that day at the swimming pool...

I thought Fulham looked like crap. Could be a long year for them in the EPL.

i agree, hurst, fulham is one of my favorites to be relegated this season, especially if they lose boa morte before the transfer window closes. either way i think that they will be fighting to stay above the bottom three all season.
