US-1
TnT-0

McBride 2'

The US played well in the beginning but they couldn't put the ball in the net afterwards. They dominated the shots, but never could put on an insurance goal. Luckily, they held on.

Bobby Convey really impressed me tonight. He played very confident and was a real difference.
Steve Ralston, to me, didn't have a great game, and hasn't in the last couple of games.

Good Win for the US, now knowing they can finish no worst than fourth(play-off to qualify)!

honestly, do you think whoever is currently in forth is gonna win the rest of there games? U.S. is pretty much garenteed a top 3 finish..maybe even top two...oh and U.S. did play well tonight..i just really want to see the whole lineup in there for once. Now to look on to mexico...any thoughts on that..i think we might actually lose, if we finish like we did tonight(game should have been 4 or 5-0)

After having a cow in finding out that a courtesy storm took out cable in my area and after repeated discussions with people who have no idea of the need to be able to see the game, I was able to see the second half.
1- The referee was awful... I did not catch what country he was from, there were obvious fouls everywhere and the second goal was not offside.
2- I hate the new rule to wait until the player touches the ball to call offside, it is nerve wracking.
3- US better find the goal scoring soon.. Donavan's chance I can accept if it came from my 10 year old, not from him.

And lastly, does anyone believe there is no coverage at this time for the game against Mexico?. How can anyone tell me that US telivision cannot get a reasonable audience for this game in Columbus?. I guess I really, really want to watch Boise Sate vs Georgia or Southern Cal vs Hawaii.(I just did not know it!!)

I would have to say that the network may have missed the mark a little with it's illustration of the clearly not offside. It looked to me like there was still several inches between the foot and the ball when they chose to freeze the frame to make their point.

But I do have to agree, there were several other mistakes. Like the corner that wasn't, several times.

Nevertheless, the discussion would not be needed if Convey and Donovan had taken care of their chances.

There is a cable TV manager somewhere with a busted ear drum, because they thought that their normal 24hr response time was sufficient.

So I wanted the goal...

I believe that the goal was (from the inaccurate view given by the camera man) offside. the player's foot was cocked when they froze the frame showing the player in an onside position. And at that moment, the player was at the furthest point he could have been to still be onside. A better view would have been from the eyes of the assistant referee.
