I would have to say that Clemson seemed to control the game, but the USC defense, led by senior Greg Reece is solid. Clemson was ahead on shots 8-4 at the end of the first half, but 5 minutes into the second half it had evened up at 8-8, then clemson cruised back into controlling the game more than USC (in my opinion). USC's goal came off a poor decision by the clemson defender, who played a weak ball to the keeper, Michael Sambursky was there to get to it first, and put it away. Clemson's goal came with under a minute left to play, the ball was knocked around near the goal, and someone just dinked it in. Then, in overtime, they had a deserved free kick which they placed wide, but a USC defender knocked it in not knowing that the shot would have missed if he'd let it go. Tough opener for the gamecocks, the Clemson fan support was phenominal. best of luck to both teams.
