Who do you think is the best european team? Not meaning that they might not win the champions league or their league, but who is the best overall team from top to bottom?

This is tough to answer the best "European team", because there is a difference between European, and...best English, Italian, Spanish, etc. I follow Liverpool, but not to be biased, Liverpool can make a great arguement that they are the best "European team". But...this does not mean that they are the best English team. That's without a question Chelsea.

When you compare Liverpool and Chelsea, a difference is seen: In the last three Premiership meetings between Liverpool and Chelsea, Chelsea has won all three, 1-0, 1-0, and 4-1. In the last three Champions League matches, Liverpool has won one and drawn two, 0-0, 1-0, 0-0. Clearly a difference in "English" and "European".

My opinion on best European clubs:
1. Liverpool
2. AC Milan
3. Juventus
4. Chelsea
5. Lyon

English:
1. Chelsea
2. Arsenal
3. Charlton
4. Manchester U.
5. Liverpool

Italian:
1. Juventus
2. Inter Milan
3. AC Milan
4. Sampdoria
5. Udinese

Spanish:
1. Real Madrid
2. Barcelona
3. Real Betis
4. Celta Vigo
5. Valencia

One of the best teams in Europe right now believe it or not might just be Hearts of the SPL. In eight matches, they have given up just two points with one tie and with a win over Champoins League contender Rangers.
They do face a togh task this weekend, going to Parkhead to face Celtic without their starting keeper who was red carded in their last match

ditto. Hearts has been looking awesome. They might be a possible surprise this year.
also, liverpool have been doing ok in europe this year, and only that.
and, I think that tottenham deserves some props. they are currently in third in the epl after eight games.

for english teams I put it like this:
1. Chelsea
2. Charlton
3. Man U
4. Tottenham
5. West Ham

call me crazy on west ham, but considering that they are coming out of the championship last season, Ham is competeing well.

I'm not sure on Italian or Spanish teams, because I havn't really been keeping up with them this year to be honest.
