Well well, it seems that I'll be supporting the USA this summer. Ireland fell at the final hurdle last night, unable to beat a decent Swiss side (who will probably get thumped in the playoffs). We were without big-name players (Duffer and Keano) but even so our other 'stars' failed to shine at all. Established Premier League players (Carr (Newcastle), Keane (Spurs) & O'Shea (Man Utd)) all looked VERY ordinary (as they have done since we drew with Israel). Our silly manager then put on Gary Doherty at the end so we could thump balls up at him for the final dying moments - eventhough he was more interested in dragging/pulling and fouling the Swiss defenders than anything else.

Goodbye Brian Kerr, your limitations were revealed for all to see last night.

Good luck to the USA!! Give Taylor Twellman the #9 shirt!
