How did USC miss out on an All-American in their own backyard?

striker,

Of the 7 South Carolina women on the Newberry roster, 2.5 of them were starters last fall.

Also, if you are on the bench at any school (D1 or D2) your freshman and sophomore seasons and not getting any playing time, chances are extremely good that you are not going to get on the field your junior and senior year.

College coaches NEVER stop recruiting.

Lindsey was recruited and signed with Clemson and went there in the spring but transferred to UNC-Charlotte before the fall season. She's an absolutely wonderful player...truly amazing...

Obviously she is an exceptional player.
From UNC-Charlotte website:

I believe her sister Hailey plays for one of the independent private high schools in Charlotte.

chico, you are AMAZING with all the data you collect, organize, and present on this message board. it makes it much easier for those of us (including me) who are too lazy to figure it all out.

and about the Beam sisters... it really is remarkable that a family has not just one, but two kids who excell in athletics. another example is Kalana Greene (SC's Gatorade player of the year and Parade's all american) from Timberland HS went to UConn for basketball. Her sister is now at Timberland and I just recently watched her lead the team in kicking the butts of many 4A schools.

An update: it appears that member(s) of the USC women's coaching staff continue to take an active role in the midlands. I saw this announcement at the Lexington girl's recreation club site (LCGSA) in which Jamie Smith of USC is teaching a clinic for coaches.
