In a game delayed and fifteen minutes from being canceled at halftime, Buford came back from
a 2-0 deficit to beat Williston-Elko.

Congrats - Buford! Sounds like an interesting story/game.

Based on the scores posted this season it looks like there are 5 schools at the top of the public 1A Class. Buford, Blackville-Hilda, Williston-Elko, Dixie, and The Governor's School. When playing each other at some point during the season we've all had one goal games. (My yardstick for parity) It looks like the Lower State Champion will be the 2002 1A public high school champ, and Upper State Champion will be the 2002 1A private school champion. Too bad Dixie has to compete in the Upper State.

All you larger schools (that's 2A and above) before you start pointing out how you beat up on one of these 1A schools, take a look at the differences in size and soccer experience of the schools. Yea, we were clobbered by some 2A, 3A or 4A teams and therefore by that definition we suck, but the fans in the stands got pretty excited in the B-H v GSSM game, as well as at the Buford v W-E game. There are definately some very talented players at 1A and some high quality soccer can be seen there.
