Total domination by Germany, Costa Rica only had Wanchope attacking. He's a great player, but you cant expect to beat the Germans with one guy. Also props to the Costa Rican goalie on that great save in the second half

My call for the first game was Germany by 2. I got that one. For the next I have Poland by 2 also, but we will see.

Wanchope was great today, to bad he was all alone up top. Wasn't that right before the half that he had a one on one with the keeper at the top of the box and got a toe on it to pop it over the keeper, but just wide? Anyway, great match by him.

I dunno Chuck, although ecuador looked weak in their preps, I've seen them in the CONMEBOL qualifications and they're pretty good, especially if Delgado is able to dominate

I'm taping Poland-Ecuador but I watched Germany-Costa Rica live at lunch at Connoly's On Fifth in uptown Charlotte. Free food! Free give aways! For $1.50 (price of a soda) I got unlimited Diet Cokes, two sections of a giant Jersey Mike's hoagie, chips, fruit, a Lufthansa WC t-shirt and a Hummel Carlsberg jersey. Every seat in the place was taken, SRO. Great atmosphere. Connoly's is doing this EVERY DAY. Unbelievable!

Match was great. German offense is tremendous, their defense plays with fire. Wanchope was the only threat Ticos had and the host nation let him burn them twice. No reason to trap like that. Kahn may be called on for the Poland game.
