Schedules are out for this weekend's Adidas Charlotte Cup.

Big Daddy brings his U-13 Boys back to the Queen City...can anybody in this division give CESA Premier a game?

Hurst....these are Parky's boys, not mine. I'm a fee paying, sideline standin' dad....and proud of it.

We'll be frontrunners....but CUFC Green will be good as well as CESA Challenge and '94 Premier. A couple of GA teams I never heard of....so who knows what you'll get there.

Proof is on the field and I can't wait to get started.

Ok, I knew these CUSC and CUFC clubs would confuse me, but who is CUSC, I mean, CUFC Green 93(formerly 93 CUFC Black)?
Is that CUFC in Columbia, SC?

From what I read on another thread the teams from Columbia United FC are going to be listed as Columbia United FC or Columbia United, not CUFC. I just hope that they stick with this listing so everyone knows what team they are talking about.

They have already the palmetto tree on their website. They need to change the name to PFC or PFA (Palmetto Football Club, Palmetto Football Association or Alliance - there would never be another club close to those names, and it is unique and distinct.

For an area to whom "USC" and "Carolina" mean something totally different than what it does the rest of the country this shouldn't surprise me.

CUFC in the Carolinas means Charlotte United Futbol Club. Maybe in a few years Columbia United can be successful enough to create some genuine uncertainty.

I saw Columbia United's '93 boys get racked by South Charlotte Saturday. Anyone know if that was Columbia's A team or B team?

No, there is only The USC!

When I lived in San Diego people seemed awfully confused by this and seemed to get their rinky-dink, podunk local area university confused with the University of South Carolina.

I take it that no one has ever considered the real USC - UNIVERSITY OF THE SUNSHINE COAST-

Leinart and Bush went to Australia?

Great link tho.....and great name. I'm sure that name carries a lot of weight at job interviews in the US. Looking at the coeds tho, my son may want to apply if their soccer team is worth anything.......

Big,
Back off-topic for a sec..........USC does not have a soccer team, or actually, any athletic teams. If you check though, a student can kick the ball around on Multi-purpose Field 1.

Chico,

You may have meant this but just to be clear, CESA u14G Premier won in Knoxville, not Charlotte. I do agree with you that these are nice starts for some of the CESA teams. A lot of work and learning yet to be done, but I am impressed with the amount my child has learned already from playing with CESA for just one month.

CESA Teams Victorious in Tournament Play

Congratulations to the CESA 92 Girls Premier team, winners of the Impact USA (fka Diadora Impact) Girls Only Invitational tournament held in Knoxville, Tennessee this past weekend. Also, congratulations go out to the CESA 93 Boys Premier and 92 Boys Challenge teams, winners of the U-13 and U-14 divisions in the Charlotte Soccer Club's Adidas Charlotte Cup.

The CESA 92 Girls Premier finished their round-robin U-14 bracket play with an undefeated record of 4-0 to win their division in Knoxville. They defeated North Atlanta Soccer Association (NASA) '11 Elite (GA) 3-1, their sister CESA 92 Girls Challenge team 3-0 in a well-played game by both teams, and Tennessee 93 United Red 2-1. They also defeated the 2nd place finishers, Lexington (KY) FC Premier, in a hard-found contest. This match was very closely contested with the CESA team remaining poised under pressure throughout. CESA scored the winning goal on a counter late in the first half and went on to win by a 1-0 score. The CESA 92 Girls Premier players include Hannah Allison, Alyssa Althoff, Casey Black, Gracie Boswell, Morgan Cutts, Linday Flanagan, Krista Hagler, Amy Hoover, Mary Kathryn Macklen, Kaitlyn Neipp, Mckay Sharpe, Anna Tarry and Mary Wessel. The team is coached by Jim Rinker.

Also participating in the Girls Only Invitational were CESA 94 Girls Premier, who were finalists in the U-12 division, 93 Girls Challenge, and 92 Girls Challenge.

CESA 92 Boys Challenge won the U-14 Boys bracket in Charlotte by going 2-0-1 in round-robin play to advance to the finals. They defeated 92 Charlotte United Green 2-0, 92 Charlotte SC Boys White 3-0 and tying 92 Fayetteville Force Premier 1-1 along the way, and in the championship match, they were victorious by a 1-0 score over USA Matthews United.

In the U-13 Boys bracket in Charlotte, CESA 93 Boys Premier had a record of 2-0-1 in round-robin play, defeating the Thunder (NC) 3-1 and 93 Charlotte SC Blue 5-0 and finishing in a hard-fought 0-0 tie with the Stars SC Arsenal (GA). CESA then won in a PK-shootout with the Arsenal to advance to the finals, where they handily defeated 93 Charlotte United FC Green by a score of 6-0.

In addition to these teams, the CESA 95 Girls Pool 1 team also did very well, finishing as runners-up in the U11 Girls bracket after losing a hard-fought match to CSC Siskey Freedom in the finals. Other CESA teams participating in the tournament were CESA 96 Boys Pool 1, 95 Boys Pool 3, 94 Pool 1A, 94 Pool 1B, 94 Pool 2, 94 Boys Premier, 93 Boys Challenge, 96 Girls Pool 1, 95 Girls Pool 2, 94 Girls Pool 1A, 94 Girls Pool 1B, 93 Girls Classic, and 91 Girls Classic.

Congratulations to the CESA teams who won championships, and to all our teams for representing the club so well in tournaments this past weekend!
