I was just wondering what team has gotten new coaches. I know that Pinewood was looking and I know Porter-Gaud got a new one.

The players "boycotted" saying they were not going to play for a coach that sits on the sidelines and does not help during the game. They were fed up with his ramblings and the seniors including the goalie, forwards , and some defenders sai for the 4 years they have played for him he has done everything the same. So the AD took that into consideration and they placed him as JV head coach and brought in someone new for varsity.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like the inmates are running the asylum over at Porter-Gaud now.

finkle63, I hope you are joking about Coach Arturo Suarez at Porter-Gaud being relegated to the Junior Varsity coaching position with the Cyclones. Coach Suarez has run that program with first rate class for years and to hear of this is absolutely absurd. P-G won eight straight private school state titles in the 1990s and has captured three SCISA Class 3A State Championships since 1998 with one Runner-Up finish. I have always respected Coach Suarez for playing a top-notch schedule annually as Porter-Gaud has competed in the Carolina Soccer Classic every season since its inception and has participated in the Palmetto Cup six times. I, personally, hope this news is untrue.

Sorry but it is true. I agree that he is a respectable coach but the 8 straight titles were not all his coahing he coached only a few, but yes it is true that A. Suarez was "knocked" down to JV.

I am shocked at this development! Coach Suarez has epitomized class and sportsmanship over the years at Porter-Gaud. He is a first-rate person and coach and I have the utmost respect for him and the job that he's done with the Cyclones over the years.

I am sorry about the recent posts. My source for this news was wrong there was no boycott of any source, the person who I got my information from heard a rumor that that is what happened. I do know for a fact that Suarez was moved to JV, but there was no boycott for the soccer players. I am sorry for those of whom I have upset and I will from now on get my info from a more reliable source than a non-player.
