This went out to Charlotte Soccer Club parents:
Dear CSC Members,
We are in the process of holding group meetings to solicit your feedback on the proposed merger with CUFC. There were some aspects of the merger that were not clearly explained in our Providence Day School presentation.
Last Friday, CUFC introduced some new conditions to the proposed merger. The CSC board reviewed these conditions and narrowed their list of points down to a couple of changes that we feel would strengthen the checks and balances between the paid staff (including Ben and Bill) and the board. We were told by CUFC that they were not willing to negotiate on our proposed changes.
This is obviously a huge decision that will have a far-reaching impact on soccer in Charlotte and ultimately your children. Group meetings will be held tonight at the CSC office every half hour starting at 5:30. Please feel free to attend any one of these meetings. You will have a chance to ask Ben and / or me questions, and cast a straw poll ballot. You may also send your feedback and comments to:
info@charlottesoccerclub.com. The board wants to make its final decision by no later than Friday, January 26th. Please make your wishes known.
Sincerely,
Mark Black
CSC President
