deahler,

Here's another gift for you from your friends at Fort Mill. Remember back when both of our teams used to score goals?

Great tournament at a wonderful venue, and all quality teams! A pleasure to finally meet Hurst 66. Only suggestions I can make for future years are: Use 3 man crews of officials, those fields are so large and the quality of the teams so good, it makes it hard for the 2 man crew of my breathern to do a great job; and maybe drop the number of games to 3 or play more Fri. night games. The 4 teams who played the 2:00 Sun. matches (having played 4 matches in a 28hr. time period) looked to be gassed in the final 20 minutes of the last game.
PS You can take down the cellophane from the Lexington goal now.

BOR,

Thanks for the advice and very nice meeting you. (Cellophane was removed right after the Wando-Lex game.)

I think you are correct about the 3-man system. If we can find enough refs, and get a quality official for the middle, we would be happy to make the investment. Those fields are BIG and another set of eyes would enhance the experience for all.

Format will change next year. We will probably go Thursday night, Friday night and finish all day Saturday. South Carolina teams will play three matches instead of four and there will not be any games played on Sunday.

Lex will be scheduled to play the last game on Saturday night so those guys don't try to head home. Tell them to book their hotel for Saturday night and that there is a bar stool waiting for them at the Towne Tavern!

Here are some nice photos taken at the tournament. Many South Carolina HS teams are featured. Click on your game and browse away:
