How are the Greenville goalkeepers? They really didn't get tested too much this weekend, but they looked somewhat suspect in warmups.

Greenville is so good in every position on the field that I don't think they are going to have to worry about their keeper to much. Greenville is the best team in the state hands down.

Although I will not go as far as drop kick did, GHS is a good team that played to their strengths very efficiently. Defense was suspect in the one game I saw when the opponent changed formation. Regardles the keeper that played in that game, did the job required of him.

Pinewood finished a disappointing 6th w/ a loss to Summerville 1-0. The ref was no help in that game for the Panthers. The Scisa Power will be ready for the Palmetto Cup. I think they proved they can play w/ the "Big Boys" by beating James Isl & Ft Mill.

James Island lost all three games in their group and Fort Mill only won one against James Island...Big Boys?
I think Spring Valley was the big boy in the group...

Assuming you are talking about 3A, that's an interesting comment since Riverside are the reigning champions and returns almost everyone from last years team. I'll also add that Riverside actually has two very good goalkeepers, which are both better than what Greenville has. With games against Riverside, Eastside, and Daniel, Greenville will need a keeper.

My guess is that Wando and Lexington would love to have a rematch with Greenville. (Too bad they aren't in the Palmetto Cup). Greenville is big, quick, talented and well coached. They could play 4A hands down. Best team in the State? Who knows. It was a great preseason tournment. We'll know in May who the best team in the State is.

Hey Griff16, since when is the ref supposed to help? I thought both teams played pretty good with Summerville having the better scoring chances. Summerville's keeper (Gluteus) came out a few times (finally) and punched and cleared some nice serves away. The Cheese played well in nets for Pinewood also. The Wave is young but learning with each game. I'm constantly asked who does the Wave have?, or told we don't have anybody, so we might post a roster for those w/ questions (you know who you are).

Judging from the rosters at the CSC, the following teams had this many seniors on their roster:

13, Greenville
11, Wando
10, Lexington
9, Fort Mill
8, Spring Valley
7, Bishop England
5, Brookland-Cayce; James Island
4, Summerville
N/A, Bluffton; Pinewood Prep; South Pointe

Pretty interesting, considering that Greenville and Bishop England played for the championship for the second consecutive year and that Lexington/Spring Valley finished 3rd/4th.

Greenville's Keepers suck!! They have one keeper that can't move and weighs about 450 pounds. The only upside is the strength of all other positions. Their keepers will not get tested until the playoffs where they will lose because they are suspect in the keeper position. Their keeper will not make the save that will help them get to the state championship.

Does anyone else think that Bluffton played themselves out of the CSC forever? 1-6-1 in two years on visits to Charleston and outscored 26-5. Will they be back?

1- was there ever a tournament team selected?
2- Saturday afternoon's game between BE and South Pointe, there was a young man seriously injured. I was wondering if there was an update on the young man. We hope he is doing well.

Coach,
The player was with the team on the bench at Sunday's game but he did not play. He is unable to play or practice with the team until next Thursday as he has not been cleared by his physician to play. His face is continuing to heal but he is still pretty shaken by what happened, understandably so.

Thanks for your concerns.
