Some time ago there was a brief discussion concerning the coaching change for PG this year. In todays Post and Courier, there was an Article that helped explain it.
Read that this morning in the P&C as well. Good article. I still have an enormous amount of respect for Coach Suarez however, and what he has done over the years at PG and in the Charleston area for soccer.
Congratulations to Coach Hoerner and good luck at PG. As an FAU alum, I feel obligated, for the sake of accuracy, to point out that Mr. Hoerner was the assistant womens soccer coach at Florida Atlantic under Brian Dooley. (Go Owls!!!)
Kids play sports because they find it fun. Eliminate the fun and soon you eliminate the kid.
Pinewood played Academic Magnet yesterday and from what I heard they would be very hard to beat. They are playing an attractive brand of soccer. Head Coach Jason Birchwood returns to high school soccer after leading them to there first championship. He is also joined by former Charleston Battery player Collin Phillips as his assistant. These are two of the top coaches at the club level in Charleston, both coaching with Bridge FA and Summerville Soccer Club.
