Sure. Let me just say that it was a very very close game all the way through. There were several close shots, and great runs for both teams. Wando seemed to control the first half just a little bit better than the fort. But then Fort D came out and dominated the ball during the second half. Neither team was able to put any points up during regulation time, or overtime however. It went into PK's, where Fort missed one, and Wando's keeper Flato saved another resulting in Wando winning 4 - 3 in pks. Great game on both sides, and it could've gone either way during regulation.

Actually he rebroke his leg. I was told by one of the WA parents that he had just returned to play after being released from his doctor on Friday from the same broken leg.

Thank you all for you kind words about my team and my player. He was so happy to be able to play again after being on the sideline for so long. Yes he broke his leg again, but he will be fine. It was a very tough night for our program. He is a team captian and 3 year letterman. His presence will be missed. Now it is time for the younger guys to step up. We also lost anther players at the same time, not sure how long he will be out. 2-4 weeks maybe. It is going to be a tough week for us. Please contunue to pray for him and his family. Thanks

ok correction on that post, it wasnt that many goals, that was what one of the other players said during the last ot but im terrible at math but it was 4-4 at the end of regular play so whatever that is plus all of the PK's. Thats a gilbert education for ya

Excellent game, very hard battle for both teams.
Halftime 0-0, Irmo scored first in the 2nd half, Dutch Fork responded after that. Many, Many shots... Many, Many great defensive plays on both sides.
I believe the final PK score was 4-3.
Irmo Keeper stopped 2 shots and Dutch Fork Keeper stopped 1.
Again, Excellent and exciting game for a season opener.

(Greenville vs. Riverside) Greenville's goal was scored with about 15-20 minutes into the fist half (I could be wrong, but I believe it was around there). It was a well fought out ball game. I know that these two teams will be fighting for a win again in the playoffs....remember what happened last year

Wednesday, February 28 - 5:30 PM Wren 4 - Palmetto 0 Palmetto's Goalie was red carded 8 minutes into the 1st half. Palmetto then played the remainder of the game with only 10 men. I do not know exactly what the "official" call was. The goalie took exception to a hard (but legal IMO) slide by the Wren striker. He claimed the guy kneed him and intentionally hit him. The goalie then retaliated by wrestling the guy and throwing punches.
This stemmed from a scrimmage incident last week in which the same goalie took exception to rough play and words exchanged by the same striker. (Again IMO) The tension was high and an opportunity afforded itself to retaliate.
The goalie is young (10th grade). He had a great freshman season. He could develop into one of the best goalies Palmetto has ever had, but must learn to control his temper and response.

Nasty....yea Wando had the ball almost the entire game. WA only had a shot or 2. two goal were off of nice headers. should have had about 5 or 6 goals tho. WA keeper did a nice job

Actually the Hammond-Pinewood was 1-0 at half(I think) when early in the second, Hammond's goalie was hurt on a save, the ball came out, PP scored, the goalie came out and the tide rose....

actually sidenet it was 2-0 midway through the first when the keeper got hurt...put one more away leaving it 3-0 at half. Pinewood went on from there finishing 3 more times but the final result could of easily been 10-0

Thanks for the actuals GK. It did seem that PP was a bit shocked by Hammond's work ethic in the first half. Not a bad team for 1 senior, 2 - 8th graders and only a hand full of challenge-level 11th grade players.

I believe that was the first boys varsity soccer win in South Pointe history. Congrats to the Stallions. 
Kids play sports because they find it fun. Eliminate the fun and soon you eliminate the kid.

Hurst, you are correct! This is the inaugural Varsity season for South Pointe. Will Galloway scored the first goal, followed by Garrett Keogh who scored 6 goals. Andrew Gorospe scored one, Michael Arevalo scored one, and Tyler Colby scored one. Andrew had a penalty kick called back because someone stepped into the circle before the kick...so it really would have been 11-0. The boys played very well together and we are looking forward to a great season!
