does anyone know why the lugoff elgin dreher game was postponed yet again?

college and pros use 3 refs bc thats where the money is, im not sure there is a surplus of HS referees just waiting to do games

as for the refs, there should be more funding or something done to insure that these games are properly officiated.

the problem is not with the funding but the lack of interest to become soccer referees. It is hard for the league to come down on the refs when they know there is a shortage. The 3-ref system is definitely the way to go but unfortunatly we are a ways away from having one.

Tuesday's game was a great example of why this system should be put in place but until the interest picks up, we have to work with what we have.

For the most part, refs do a great job getting up and down the field for more than one game but when time and stress sets in, the problems occur.

Any thought on tomorrows contests?
Flora vs Blythewood should be a good rematch, after flora won the first game 2-1 even though they were short 5 starters.

I tried to ignore comments about 2 fouls at the end of the game. Neither one should have been a PK. The first so called foul the Flora player ran into the back of the Dreher player and they both fell down. The second one I guess you are talking about could have been called a foul. I would not have called it, but anyways it was outside the box. Someone caught it on film if you want to analyze it more.The Flora and Dreher players did a great job of just playing soccer. The Flora fans did use profanity,and the player that was ejected from the bench told the ref he "f"ing sucked. The assistant coach started with his comments during the pregame when he was told he could not represent the head coach at the coin toss. The second match should be even better. Both are good teams.

If the Flora assistant 'started up with comments' during pregame, then that is a problem right there to be corrected. Flora coaches and fans need to represent themselves and their school better at next game vs. Dreher.
Just play the game, regardless of the calls on the field. The Flora Head Coach gave the referee some props-

so what does everyone think the outcome of lugoff vs camden tomorow night will be?

For anyone who wants corrections, The flora fans never once used a curse word. they had taunting remarks, but nothing to bad. The dreher fans however did use some profane words to players on the field that were on there side. the only cuss word used by flora was by the player on the bench who was red carded.

As for the article in the columbia star, Flora didnt have 2 assistant coaches red carded, one was, but the other was an injured player that was out for the season, not a coach. This article seemed to be very dreher biased and not a very good reflection of the game.

Lugoff vs camden should be interesting like it always is, since they have a good rivalry. I think Lugoff will pull out a close one, but dont be suprised if you see Camden with a W.
