Who has the best and worst home field? I would have to say Mauldin has the absolute worst field. Not so sure for the best. Opinions???

Summerville's field has to be top 3 worst during soccer season, looks good in the fall for the other football season.

having never seen it I would assume that Bishop England would most likely have the nicest field.

Ironically, Colleton County's field was pretty nice the last time I saw it. Im not 100% sure but I think the movie "RADIO" might have had something to do with it. I also tend to agree with Griff on Summerville's field. The stadium is pretty sweet but the actual surface is hardly remarkable and actually quite dreadful.

Poor field—touch line about one step from the track—dangerous!

BHP has a very nice field. Very wide field with nice length grass. Also it is fenced in so no running for balls.

Porter Gaud has a great field. One of the best ones I've seen for a high school.

It seems like there are several upstate fields that could be better, especially for the size of school. Mauldin, Riverside and Spartanburg all have sub par fields, but the one that dissapoints me the most is Dorman's. Here is this large, beautiful school that is nicer than some colleges in the state that has excellent facilities, but has one of the smallest soccer fields that I have ever seen. The worst part is that even though it lies inside a track, they could have made it bigger in both dimensions. There is green space to widen it and lengthen it. It's disappointing that it got short changed when the other facilities are very nice.

We gripe about a great deal on this board, but the lack of soccer-specific and high quality fields is a real problem for HS soccer. We need larger and better fields, but the multi-use field approach and the use of fields built with ONLY football in mind are real problems for ADs and schools to face. More and better fields are a need for sure.
