Eleven days ago she is leading the Wando JV Girls to victory in the Irmo JV tournament and now, she scores a crucial goal in a 2-0 second-round VARSITY state playoff game. Were the coaches blind to her varsity ability????....or was somebody sand-bagging in a JV tournament? I smell a ringer! Any way, congratulations to both Jennifer and Wando. Wando will be a very tough out in this tournament. Kids play sports because they find it fun. Eliminate the fun and soon you eliminate the kid.

Coach Chad Mitchell's team played hard and with a lot of heart. Goals for Airport were Carrie Jacques and Courtney Shumpert. Airport plays at Hilton Head on Friday.

They got the early goal and I thought they were going to salt the game away. They defended very tough, gave no space and shut down the passing lanes. Fort Mill had to gut it out in dramatic fashion. It wasn't pretty (and we may have been a little lucky), but we live to play another day. Hello Lex! Kids play sports because they find it fun. Eliminate the fun and soon you eliminate the kid.
