The more things change...the more they stay the same!

Why the negativity? Nick is an exceptional coach and leader. He coached my son at U9-10 and I would love for him to get the chance to play for Nick again.

Nick is a winner....and will get opportunities as a result. As his family gets older his values and priorities will evolve. Give him the room to make his personal choices.

While his HS kids and AD are no doubt disappointed...I doubt anyone felt cheated or that they didn't get their money's worth last year.

My comment came off the wrong way. I meant that I am not suprised he is getting a promotion and working his way up the ranks. He is an outstanding coach. I know from personal experiences with Finotti that he will do whatever it takes to win and will do what is best for the team. I congratulate him on his achievment. I would not be suprised to see him coaching a very high level in the neat future.

I honestly wasn't sure if you were being positive or negative, that's why I asked. I agree with you regarding Finnoti.

While I now know you weren't saying anything negative, in general I tend to be on the lookout for people criticizing soccer coaches for moving -- whether it be between schools, between clubs, or whatever. I think that many of the folks that criticize a soccer coach for leaving never think to ask themselves if they were offered a better position whether they'd spend more than two nanoseconds taking the new job.

If you want someone (e.g., soccer coaches, etc.) to stay somewhere, sign a multi-year employment contract; otherwise it seems to me that these folks need to go where they're the most wanted (i.e., the best job for them.)
