This looks like the beginnings of a quality soccer facility. It appears that the fields which I think are Richland Countys has alot of room to grow. The fields are on your left prior to reaching Lower Richland High School.
I think they will only have the 2 fields, but they are as nice as any in Columbia, and they have lights. 24 games were played on the 2 fields this weekend with the Carolina Cup, and they held up well. I hope the county keeps them in good shape.
Striker, Why only two fields. I know there are only two now but? Does the County own the fields? are there plans to build more to the facilities? It is a pretty winding road with lights the whole way to let all that property go unused. Plus, that part of Columbia could use the economic impact that type of facility draws. I believe that part of Columbia is relatively undeveloped.
Soccer, There is a bunch of land there for sure. But it is a sports complex, and most of the rest will be baseball/softball fields. It would be nice to see at least 2 more soccer fields, but it took 2 years to build the 2 they have.
