COLUMBIA, SC - The Mustangs broke a scoreless halftime just two minutes into the second stanza and added another goal with less than 10 minutes to outlast South Carolina 2-1 at Stone Stadium.

USC tallied a goal with 1 1/2 minutes remaining when Mike Lindsay was tripped in the penalty area and sophomore Jeff Scannella stepped up and converted the penalty kick.

USC (8-5-1/2-2-1 C-USA) will host Marshall (8-6-1/2-3-0 C-USA) at Stone Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is 7:00 p.m.

Spencer Lewis, Schuyler Reardon, and Paddy Flynn (correct me if Brennan Williams got in?) all got some quality PT in front of the FSC crowd tonight.

Not to mention CESA ball boys and some other SC notables in the stands!

PS - the match time for Marshall was changed to either 5 or 5:30

Brennan did play some minutes in the first half. I don't recall whether or not he did in the 2nd.

Match time was announced as 5:00 for Saturday with Marshall.

2 pretty soft goals, but SMU had them on the ropes often. It seemed SMU out worked them. More in the attack, which you would think would lead to counter opportunities, but they also were able to always have numbers defensively also. USC created some good opportunities of their own though, particularly on set pieces. SMU defensively on deep set pieces had all 10 players back.
