whsalumni-
In response to your post, I wanted to inform you, and any other Waccamaw Alumni, that this year there is in fact only a limited number of graduating classes invited. The main reason for this is that the event is being organized entirely by an alumn who is a senior at USC and is doing this for a senior project in his degree. He has put in a TON of work, and I felt it to be fair to limit the scope of this undertaking to a select number of graduating classes so it doesn't hinder his other, rather demanding, coursework by being too large and difficult to organize. He contacted approximately 25 people and I believe 22 are playing. Based on the results, if we contacted all of the alumni, then we more than likely would have 40ish people trying to play. For logistical reasons, this would have made his task of chairing the event rather difficult.
I have spoken with several alumni from the years before I arrived at Waccamaw (there are also several years not invited that were during my tenure here), and explained that next year I will extend invitations first to the other sets of graduating classes not included this year. I hope this clarifies any misunderstanding, as I look forward to continuing this event in the future.
