Brookland-Cayce 1-4 Chapin
The Cage @ BCHS

I don't have the scoresheet with me, but here are some numbers off the top of my head:

Halftime: BC 1-2 C.
Goals: (BC) own goal 32'; (C) Ben Bosco 33', David Stone 35', David Slaughter 41', Joey De Mare 43'.
Shots: BC 10-15 C.
Saves: (BC) Chris Duzan 4; (C) Greg De Mare 3.
Records: BC 5-1, 1-1; C 9-2, 3-0.

B-C and Chapin have split the past 16 meetings and 12 of those matches have been decided by one goal in either direction, including five penalty kick decisions and one match decided in overtime. The Bearcats lead the overall series 13-11 (super rivalry in Lexington County).

One note -- I like the region slate better when both the Varsity girls and boys teams play back-to-back instead of the way Region 4-3A is doing it this year with the same gender JV teams playing ahead of the Varsity squads. Makes for better gates and crowds, though last night was well attended, but makes for a much better atmosphere in my opinion. Plus, it allows me to watch the JV teams with the intent on seeing who is getting better or regressing instead of preparing for the Varsity match. Just my $0.02 worth.

Congratulations to Chapin on the victory -- the Eagles were certainly the better team last night!

The game last night was a very enjoyable game to take the time to go see. Chapin was excellent. B.C. looked nervous to play. They looked very nervous when DeMare touched the ball, they always tried to double team him but it didn't work to well. He had an amazing goal and set up many other goals and goal scoring chances. DeMare was outstanding he had a man mark of course . Although the boy can play a 1 touch game and get himself out of a lot of tight situations. I have seen him play in Club State, and now 3 games this high school season and I really think he is up there with Enzo. I have seen Enzo play over 30 times and I think Joey is up there with him.

The midfield for the Eagles was tremendous. Haze and number 20? were good in the air and controlled the ball well. Great game from both teams though! Mostly the Chapin team but B.C. gave good effort against a team of high quality!! Great game!

I agree coach, I originally thought it would be great because I would see my JV play. What I now realize is that I am so into the Varsity match that I am too worked up and or busy to watch the JV team. In addition it certainly hurts the gate and concession. Interesting angle isn't it!
