Anyone care to predict the outcome of this game? I think Aiken can hang with Lexington, and it will be a good match. Aiken has a strong back line that works well with their goalkeeper, but Kira Campbell and the Lexington crew are creative offensively.
My prediction Aiken 1 - Lexington 2.

I am going out on the proverbial limb. At Aiken (correct?), Lex maybe overlooking a little, 1-1 with PK's and Aiken winning 3-2.

That and a quarter will buy you 1/10th of a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

Ron's Aiken High squads consistently defeat at least one top 10 team every year. Don't know if it will be Lexington this week, but if his girls can beat Greenwood 4-0, and Mauldin beat Greenwood 4-0, then based on the numbers it doesn't seem beyond their grasp to topple some higher ranked opponents, or get ranked themselves!

Of course, he may have a top 10 South Aiken, Irmo, and North Augusta to deal with in the weeks to come...

Any given day, any soccer team can defeat another, but I don't believe Aiken is ready to defeat Lexinton on 3/18. Lexington winning 6-0 over Aiken. Maybe next year...

I've seen Aiken and I've seen Lexington this year.

The final result will be somewhere between the predictions made by dbsandis and RO&H.

Closer to dbsandis.

RO&H replies:

1) I am old.
2) I am retired, therefore predictions have no meaning or value in my life except to predict that my Friday morning trips to Krispy Kreme with my two year old grandson, followed by a trip to the Greenville commercial airport to watch planes, followed by lunch with my daughter and her family, followed by soccer practice with the Blue Ridge girls, followed by the ability to go to bed at 7 if I want means...
3) I am very happy.
Having never seen either team, I was just reading the press on Aiken, and thought a nice comment might spur them on. Lexington must be off the planet, but I hope the game is a good one.
It is really cool to have this forum at 5 in the morning when I wake up and no one else is up.

Region 4 is very strong and that makes prediction difficult. Last year, in region 4, we had a team that beat another team 1-0 and then a few weeks later the losing team played that same team and won 7-1. The only thing I'll predict is that Aiken, Irmo, North Augusta, and South Aiken are all really strong teams that are well-coached and there will be upsets in region 4.

I'm not calling for a playoff sweep, but our group will be very tough when April and May come thanks to having to be ready for nearly every single region match up.
