M Taylor, you have obviously never spoken with Coach Savitz because if you had you would obviously come to the quick realization that he is actually a better person then he is a coach. I agree with you, coaching is a lot more than wins and losses are concerned and this is why Coach Savitz is by far the best coach in the state. Do you think its a coincidence that Irmo has eight coaches, four of which are former players? No, that is how much his players care about him that many of them are willing to come back and volunteer to help the program in anyway they can. As far as talent goes, while the Irmo teams of the 90's were very talented Coach Savitz was in the state championship his first two years of coaching (80 and 81) before winning it in 83. He must know a little something about the game. Now to the point about what has Coach Savitz given back to the community. Are you kidding me? Have you ever heard of the Columbia United Football Club? It only happens to be one of the largest soccer clubs in the entire state of South Carolina. Along with Tripp Miller, Coach Savitz was one of the most instrumental figures in making it even possible for CSC and NECSA to merge into CUFC. Thus this is why they are the Co Directors of Soccer at the club. So before you ask what a person of Coach Savitz caliber has givin back to the community please get a freaking clue what you are talking about.
