Most of us are calmly in the middle, but several teams getting hot after so so Viking Cup starts. Some teams having some disappointing losses after jumping out of the gates.

BE obviously gets into the "Hot" category as does Myrtle Beach. I'd put Blue Ridge in the cooling off list (no offense Coach!)

JR, if you will look back at my post about BE in the Viking Cup thread they have a special place in my heart for their thoughtfulness so soon after my mother's death. Besides that, they are a very good team. Great win, girls!

OK Dale, Jr. When was the last time you won a race? Blue Ridge cooling off is only due to absolutely pathetic coaching, and the fact that we played #1, #2, and #4 in a row. No excuses. We are preparing for two games in the next two days, and then the walk back through the top teams.

For a team that won 2 games two years ago, gave up over 40 goals to the top teams in our region for the last three trips through, 14 goals this time may seem like "cooling off" but we are encouraged.

Now, if only we only had a nonretired, young, unhappy coach.

I'm hot, but the temps are finally in the 70s and I've been riding the bicycle pretty hard. . .is that what this thread is about. . .?

Dale, Jr. - You were the bulletin board material tonight, baby! Every moment in the game I heard a "We're cooling off now, baby!" Thank you, thank you, thank you.

BR 9, Union 1. Stopped at 5-0 and scored on 4 headers by first time scorers!

Can't send you a PM - you have exceeded your limit per the Forum Czars. Tried twice yesterday to thank you before the game but they came back with "Sorry's, his box is full!"

Maybe you have been hacked!

You know...it's fascinating that you guys are talking about this aspect of it all (players and coaches). I've always wondered when I watched high school soccer about the almost infinite patience of so many coaches for their players explicitly ignoring and doing the opposite of what the coach says.

I've never known if this was because soccer is somehow different than any other sport with which I'm familiar -- or whether it's indicative of a more permissive era.

When you get an answer let me know. I often wait for a player's head to start spinning around a la Poltergeist right after some nugget of wisdom sharing episode.

Almost had a meltdown during pregame yesterday when during the very serious Coaches' Game Plan portion two players were caught taking phone camera pictures of their hair.

We taped them to the desks. May still be there.

I keep my 4-year old granddaughter and 2-year old grandson for three days for relaxing after a hard period of coaching. Seems to bring everything back into focus.

Nine Krispy Kreme doughnuts in 30 minutes will fix about anything for about 10 minutes.

Players. We made them put the phones in their mouths before we taped them shut, and then taped them to their desks.....Oh, my wife just told me to stop daydreaming and napping and get up and go to the game!

CC just beat Wallhalla 2-0 while still missing a key starter - so the upstate 1A/2A leader is still up for grabs - Wallhalla, Woodruff, Christ Church?

Isn't it funny how all the sharpest barbs are headed at the guys who are 100-0? We love to pick at the winners in this country, don't we.

Jr.,

You either have a set of cujones....or you realize that your squad has no chance at winning the upperstate championship.
