I agree about the ref...
Herbert Fandel is the same ref that was involved with the match-fixing scandal with Juventus back in 2005-06. He got fired by Serie A, and was hired by UEFA, where he refereed the Champions League final the next year between AC Milan and Liverpool, which was very questionably called like yesterday's match. I know, I know...UEFA hired a ref that was just fired for match-fixing, and then put him in the CL final. And now he is doing Euro matches.
This is extremely mysterious to me, considering Italy was obviously favored by Fandel yesterday. Anyways, refs can't control a shootout.
