If you have ten teams and everyone plays 4 games, why would there not be 2 groups of 5 where 1st place of each group advances to the championship? Doesn't make sense to do random scheduling.
Totally agree that this would have been the easiest way to bracket this year's Palmetto Cup, but:
* due to four teams not being on Spring Break and needing night matches; * working with our non-SC teams and their travel needs; * ensuring as many teams get to see different opposition; * trying to accommodate team's opponents in respect to previous Palmetto Cup appearances; * making it as balanced as possible for "even" possibilities to qualify for the Championship; * etc.;
