Coaches,

We hope each of your seasons are off to a great start!

Unfortunately, this e-mail brings bad news, but we feel that each of you can play a part to help make the best of a situation. We are emailing in response to recent events that have occurred to Coach Kevin Heise.

Kevin was put on administrative leave February 10th based on a classroom incident. The Brookland-Cayce High School (BCHS) administration recommended his termination.

While we choose not to go into details about the reasoning behind this decision by BCHS, it is our opinion that the recommended punishment does not meet the alleged infractions. Kevin is currently in his 28th year serving BCHS, the South Carolina High School Soccer Coaches Association (SCHSSCA), North-South Soccer All-Star Game, Clash of the Carolinas, and South Carolina Athletic Coaches Associated (SCACA).

Over his past 27 years Kevin has gone above and beyond his job requirements to improve the lives of BCHS students, promote and improve the reputation of BCHS, grow the game of soccer at BCHS and throughout South Carolina, help to place young students in college situations where they have a chance to continue their athletic careers, and help fellow coaches learn and understand the roles and responsibilities of their position. Kevin has dedicated his life to soccer at BCHS and the State of South Carolina and we have each at some point in our careers been blessed and thankful to be able to call Kevin Heise a friend and colleague. Kevin has always put his players and the development of the game of soccer in S.C. first and has always been there when others were in need.

We say this because now we are each presented with an opportunity to say thanks to Kevin and to educate School Board Members that he deserves to remain in his current position as Head Coach and teacher at BCHS. Without Kevin Heise, BCHS, BCHS Soccer Program, and South Carolina High School soccer would not be as strong. His many thousands of hours of service to each of us has surely earned a few minutes of your time to express your support.

If you feel comfortable, please email the Board Members of Lexington County School District 2 to show your support for Kevin Heise. We ask that you share either a way he has helped the game of soccer, represented BCHS in a positive way, represented the game of soccer in a professional manner, help students at his program or yours.

A link to each of the Lexington School District Two School Board member's e-mail addresses is provided.
