Kudos to Coach Suozzi from Hilton Head for a first class move.
His team was down 3-2 with 25 minutes to go and a place in the semi finals at stake. One of his players and Mauldin's goalkeeper were battling for the ball and the Mauldin keeper hit her head on the post. She was on the field for about 30 minutes and EMS was called.
Right before play was about to resume, Coach Suozzi decided to stop the game at that point, allowing Mauldin to advance to the semi finals.
Hilton Head would have had a good chance to come out on top but decided that it was the right thing to do.
Hats off to you sir! Some things are bigger than winning and losing.
The Mauldin goalkeeper was treated and released with a concussion and neck sprain. It was a scary scene and I'm so glad it wasn't a more serious injury.
Best of luck to both teams for the reminder of the season.
