I wouldn't worry too much about what THE Ohio "State" does in comparison to the Palmetto State. Football - as most of you and I know it - is going the way of the DoDo Bird. Mark my words that in 20 years it will be more like Flag Football than the collision sport was 20-30 years ago and the Charminesque version we see today.

In fact, high school sports are more than likely going to move in that direction as well. Too much privatization in our society these days. Maybe in 100 years that cycle will shift again, but I won't be around to witness that movement. Goodbye to Cheerleading, Marching Band, etc., on this "sacred" day of the week during the Fall.

IMO, go ahead and make school year-round and just work in some breaks after each 10-week session and the observation of necessary Holidays which seem to be blind to most School Boards.

Oh well, off the soapbox this morning! Time to go mow some grass.
