I have been a casual reader of this board to just stay up to date on the local soccer news between the clubs, but am looking at people's thoughts on the current ODP program. My son is an '05 player, so will no longer have a "normal" spring season with his club team. He goes to a smaller private school in the Charleston area and will be playing on the school team in the Spring. While he enjoys playing for the team, the overall skill level of the team does not provide the "highly competitive" environment that we want him to continue with through the Spring.
To supplement this, we are looking for additional options and thought the ODP program might be a good option. However, after reading some past threads about ODP on this forum, it seems like most people were let down by the experience with multiple mentions of it being disorganized and just not giving enough positives compared to the cost/travel requirements.
Now this is also going to be dependent on how his club team does in their State Cup Tournament coming up in December. If they happen to do well and have another tournament to go to at the end of Spring, the team will most likely continue with practices, but without the regular season games.
Would just like to hear some people's thoughts on supplemental opportunities/recommendations in the Spring if we should be looking for them.
