Subject: Sanctioning Application Fee Changes for the 2023-24 School Year

Date: May 4, 2023
___________________________________________________________________________

I hope this note finds your school sanctioning season wrapping up on a positive note. The purpose of this memo is to advise you that unfortunately, we will have to increase the sanctioning application fees. We believed that if the sanctioning application fees were kept low, then more event managers and schools would be encouraged to travel and play more contests away from their home state. That proved to be factual. We have seen a growth of over 900 domestic and international applications and tens of thousands contests annually. Fortunately, we were able to maintain the same sanction application fee for the last 14 years!

However, that success does not come without a price and we now must put resources back into our platform to handle the increased activity. We will enhance our technology to handle the existing activity and be scalable for future growth.

Effective July 1, 2023, high schools and high school-based organizations’ (e.g. booster clubs) new sanctioning application fee will be $150.00, if the application is received 60 or more days before the event. Any events received less than 60 days will be subject to the similar type of penalties as before. For non-school organizations, the new sanctioning application fee will be $300, if the application is received 60 or more days before the event. Any events received less than 60 days will be subject to the similar type of penalties as before. With this advanced notice, if you can submit your sanctioning application prior to July 1, 2023, you will be charged the current rate. We hope that this explanation makes sound business sense to you and we look forward to servicing you in the new school year.
