ok so tryouts in August or even mid july are not good at all.

still, couldn't scysa have all clubs run tryouts during like a 2 week period in early june?

I know fams like to holiday after school gets out, but don't most fans wait until later in june or july so they can all have a break from school before they go on holiday?

And if so, will not most players who want to play classic soccer in the next year make themselves available for tryouts and not go on holiday during tryouts?

Really, U15 and older players are done with state cup play in December, so mid-to-late May tryouts after SCHSL and SCISA finals are done are ok. But U11-U14s still have state cup. How do you think a player feels when he or she is trying out for a new team, maybe a rival team, before finishing state cup play?

Maybe SCYSA should mandate separate dates for U15 and older and U11-U14 tryouts so that tryouts do not conflict with spring state cup play AND spring high school playoffs/championship, both HSL and SCISA.

Tryouts are a personal thing--one player independent of his/her teammates wants to explore playing on another team. That's stressful in and of itself. Why make a player face this stress while being stressed by his/her current state cup play?

When possessing the ball, players want to "relieve pressure" on the ball so they can maintain possession and then find an opportunity to penetrate the defense. As a coach, our obligation is to relieve pressure on the players so they can experience a better developmental environment. So why should clubs ADD pressure to players when it comes to tryouts while state cup play is still going on?

Why can't all clubs in SC hold tryouts in early June?
