Erik Ozimek played at Spring Valley HS for three years (1995-97) and graduated early so that he could enroll at the University of Maryland during the spring of 1998. He appeared in 10 matches for the Terrapins his freshman season and played in 15 games his sophomore year at College Park.

However, he transferred to Davidson College in 2000 and was named to the All-South Region Team and All-Southern Conference. As a junior for the Wildcats, Ozimek notched 18 points (6g, 6a) and followed that in 2001 with 18 points (5g, 8a). He was a All-South Region Third Team selection this past fall and participated in the Umbro Selct All-Star Classic earlier this month. Davidson finished 9-8 overall and 4-2 in the Southern Conference. The Wildcats dropped a 1-0 decision to conference winner Furman in the SoCon Tournament.

Ozimek tallied 77 points as a junior in South Carolina (28g, 21a) and helped the Vikings compile a 53-6 record during his three years.
